The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce was initially formed in 1946 as the Playground Chamber of Commerce. On April 1, 1977, the Chamber received its charter as the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce.
The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit organization of business and professional people committed to improving the economic prosperity and quality of life in our area.

The mission of the Chamber is to strengthen local businesses and enhance the quality of life in our community by providing services which help businesses help themselves.
With nearly 1,450 members, the Chamber speaks with a strong and credible voice for business within the area. Approximately 80% of our membership is small business owners who employ less than ten (10) employees.
The Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors selected from its member companies. The Board directs the work of the committees, volunteers and their efforts. The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber staff supports the day-to-day operations of the organization. The chamber has five operating divisions: Membership, Government, Community, Special Events, and Business Development.
