See more than 70 artworks and vote for your favorites at the “Meowsterpieces Art Show and Competition,” benefiting Save Our Cats and Kittens (SOCKS.)
The public can see the cat-themed works from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday until Sept. 20 at the SOCKS events building behind the shelter, 498 Carmel Drive, Fort Walton Beach. They also can vote in the “People’s Choice” competition at Save Our Cats and Kittens (SOCKS) | Meowster-pieces (gogophotocontest.com) [https://www.gogophotocontest.com/meowster-pieces]. One vote is $1.
Pieces with the most votes in three age categories – child, teen and adult – will receive trophies.
Trophies also will be given to winners determined by guest juror J. Wren Supak, Director & Curator of Mattie Kelly Art Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College.
The awards presentations and reception are from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the SOCKS event building. The event is open to the public.
Submitted art will be auctioned after the exhibition, with proceeds benefiting SOCKS, a nonprofit, no-kill, free-roaming cat shelter in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
