The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) officially announced that Christen Cowgill will be joining their team in October as the non-profit’s Director of Development and Marketing. In this executive role, she will be leading the development and marketing efforts of ECCAC’s Centers in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
Cowgill has an extensive background working with people and events, most recently serving as the Director of Events for Grand Boulevard. Also involved with the Shoreline Church Sisterhood in Destin, a community of women, she serves as their Co-leader. As well, she is an active member of Business Empowered and the Florida Public Relations Association.
“As long as I’ve lived here, I have heard the stories of healing and justice that have come from Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s work to end child abuse,” commented Cowgill. “It is a dream come true to join this team. My background in sales, marketing and events will help continue to flourish our beautiful partnerships as we expand our reach on the Emerald Coast.”
ECCAC’s two Centers house representatives from the Florida Department of Children and Families, Child Protection Team, State Attorney’s Office, local law enforcement, licensed mental health counselors, and ECCAC’s staff and volunteers. In the past 20+ years, ECCAC has provided more than 170,000 services at no cost to over 15,000 children who have been abused, neglected or assaulted.
