Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Welcomes Tracey Kinsley as Interim Executive Director
Fort Walton Beach, FL (October 16, 2024) – The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey Kinsley as its new Interim Executive Director. Kinsley brings more than two decades of experience working in nonprofit organizations across Florida, with a focus on healthcare, child welfare, and, most recently, animal welfare. She began her journey with PAWS in May 2024 as the Community Development Director, where she worked to enhance community engagement and fundraising efforts.
Having spent nearly six years at the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, Kinsley held a range of leadership positions, from Communications Manager to Interim CEO. During her time there, she made a significant impact on reputation management, donor relations, and building strong partnerships that supported the shelter’s mission.
"I am honored to step into this role at PAWS and lead this incredible organization,” said Tracey Kinsley. “I am excited to focus on deepening our community relationship, engaging new and long-term supporters, and enhancing the programs that make PAWS such a vital part of the Fort Walton Beach community.”
At PAWS, Kinsley’s goals will center around strengthening community partnerships, enhancing volunteer programs, and boosting fundraising efforts to support shelter operations and improve the lives of animals waiting for their forever homes. Another key financial priority will be increasing corporate sponsorships and exploring grant opportunities to diversify the shelter’s funding and ensure long-term financial stability.
Heather Larabee, PAWS Board President, expressed her enthusiasm for Kinsley’s leadership: “We are thrilled to have Tracey as our Interim Executive Director. Her experience in nonprofit management, particularly in animal welfare, positions her perfectly to lead our team as we continue to grow and serve the needs of our community. We are confident that her passion and vision will take PAWS to new heights.”
Since joining PAWS earlier this year, Kinsley has already made a positive impact through her role in community development, and the organization looks forward to the continued growth and innovation she will bring in her expanded leadership role.
